Creating and Making Music with Finale (Beginners)
Times: Thursday November 5, 2020 7-8pm
Class Description: Welcome to using Finale! In this introductory course, students will be given a set of tools to help jumpstart their creativity using Finale notation software. Objectives include learning basics of navigating the program, how to set up a template, basic functions of note entry, and inputting articulations, lyrics, and dynamics. We hope you will join us in this fun and informative course! You will be on your way to creating your own music!
Teacher Bio: Jacklyn Riha is a New York based music director, orchestrator, vocalist and music arranger. She has served as music director for several readings and workshops. Highlights include: WONDER WOMEN: THE MUSICAL, LEGACY: THE MUSICAL, and BISLAND & BLY at the 2019 New York Musical Festival. Recently, she worked as the associate music director and keyboard programmer on LOCH NESS at the Merry Go Round Playhouse and was the Associate Music Director of the Off-Broadway production of ORATORIO FOR LIVING THINGS with Ars Nova in the Spring of 2020. Since graduating from Berklee College of Music, Jacklyn has provided orchestration for WORLDS APART and has worked extensively as a music assistant on various shows, including THE HELLO GIRLS (Off-Broadway), FAT KID RULES THE WORLD, THE PRINCESS BRIDE and a few others.
