Dancing through Musical Theater: Part I (Ages Teen and Up)

Instructor: Lauren Garriott
A dance class focusing on technique and styles found on the Broadway stage. Class will begin with a short warm-up, followed by center technique exercises, and a combination in the Musical Theatre style. The focus will be on stylized movement and telling a story through dance. This class is taught by Lauren Garriott, a professional NYC performer most recently seen on the International/National tour of A Chorus Line. This class will leave you sweating and smiling and singing a long!
Lauren Garriott has been training and performing for over 20 years in the areas of dance, voice, acting, and more. She is a graduate of Point Park University with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in Dance. She has extensive performance and teaching experience for ages ranging from 3 to adult. She has worked as a choreographer, a dance captain and a performer. Most recently Lauren traveled the world in the National and International Tour of A Chorus Line. She has worked with theatre such as Flat Rock Playhouse and The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati. In her education career, she recently managed a special events team at a children’s enrichment center. She also taught preschool and enrichment classes in a variety of subjects including, dance, STEAKM, art/music, fitness, gymnastics and more. She greatly believes in the power of education and the arts to shape young minds and build a bright future.

If a minimum amount of students does not sign up for the course, the course will be cancelled and all costs will be refunded. No cancellations at least 48 hours before will be refunded.
